Shauna's story is truly motivational. Cailin Mining & Civil had been delivering training and VOCs on-site in the Pilbara for her uncle's projects for years. We were happy to have the opportunity to aid someone so close to someone we admired when her uncle contacted us and asked if we could take Shauna under our wing.

We were lucked to have a course scheduled for the next week, and Shauna was able to attend. Shauna performed admirably over the three-day training course. She emphasised her desire to make this work and knew she couldn't return to her previous life. Oh boy, did she pull it off?

Shauna began her career as a moxy operator, but her passion and dedication swiftly catapulted her into management. She left her old life behind, unloaded her belongings, and headed to the mines. Shauna secured her first job in the sector on one of the country's largest pipeline projects just weeks after finishing our training course.

Shauna is still thriving in her profession and living life to the fullest even a year later. She may now travel and do whatever she wants during her vacation weeks. Her life turned around in a short of weeks because she had the confidence to do something risky: she packed her belongings and boarded a plane for three days in the wilderness with three strangers to learn how to drive trucks.

What's the best part? All four of the girls who took that course are still friends today. It's incredible to see how a little chance and determination can bring people together and transform lives for the better. Shauna's tale exemplifies the power of hard work, determination, and the necessity of seizing opportunities when they arrive.

I hope this story has inspired you as much as it did me. Remember, taking the first step towards your dreams is the only way to reach greatness. Who knows, it might open up a whole new universe of options for you as it did for Shauna.

- SHAUNA'S MOTIVATIONAL MOMENTS

Debbie's life story is truly inspirational. She travelled to Australia with the purpose of working FIFO to support her family back in Sudan. We knew we had to help as soon as we heard her story.

Debbie had always wanted to be an operator, but she had no idea where to begin. Many people who want to work in the mining business face this issue. Deborah, on the other hand, had already taken the first significant step before we met her: she had gotten a job as a peggy.

It was almost three years ago in the Pilbara that Debbie met one of our trainers. They were working on the same FIFO project and stayed in the same camp, seeing each other every day, but never spoke until Debbie found out about Cailin Mining & Civil.

Debbie spent all of her free time with us at work and at camp after that, planning how she could become an operator. She picked our brains about when and how she could work out outside of work, but our schedules never coincided. Debbie, on the other hand, began with the theory we offered her before beginning the practical instruction.

We saw Debbie's determination and spent any spare time we had with her on location. This was difficult because the site was around 30 kilometres long, and both parties still had responsibilities to accomplish on-site. But we were resolved to assist her in reaching her objectives.

Before we could begin our practical training with Debbie, we learned that she was being demoted from the site. We were as devastated as she was, but we realised we had to move quickly. We hired her so that we could train her on our terms.

Debbie came on board and was fantastic! We still have the photo we shot on her first roller coaster ride. Anybody who has used a roller knows that your first pass will always be like spaghetti - never straight. Debbie, on the other hand, nailed it.

And the best part? Debbie is still currently working in the industry as an operator. We're proud to have played a small part in helping her achieve her dreams and provide for her family. Debbie's story is a true testament to the power of determination and hard work. We're honoured to have been a part of her journey, and we can't wait to see what she achieves next.

When I first met Sandy, I could see her passion to learn and advance in the field in her eyes. She had mastered the technique of rolling but was having difficulty getting from rollers and onto moxies and Watercarts. We were able to help Sandy upskill with ease through workplace assessment, leveraging her practical knowledge in numerous parts of civil, mining, and construction, thanks to Cailin Mining & Civil offering on-site training and VOCs for her employer.

Sandy is not only a good operator, but she is also concerned with safety, which is critical in the field. Her resilience and tenacity, built through adversity, make her an important component of our team. It's been an incredible experience to see Sandy develop and thrive.

Sandy is currently working as a Watercart operator on a project where Cailin Mining & Civil is significantly involved in training and supervision. She is an essential member of the team and a huge support network for us. We are extremely lucky to have her as one of our most ardent supporters.

Sandy is not only a competent operator but also a teacher, as she has taught us so much about her homeland and being an Indigenous person. Sandy is a mother figure to our team, and we appreciate everything she offers to our work and our life.

Stories like Sandy's motivate us at Cailin Mining & Civil to continue doing what we do: assisting people in achieving their goals and creating better lives for themselves and their families. We are honoured to have been a part of Sandy's journey and look forwards to seeing where her abilities and dedication will lead her next.

- SANDY'S JOURNEY

Aimee is a brilliant example of resilience and determination in the face of hardship. Aimee moved from Scotland to Australia to pursue a new job as a hairdresser, but she struggled to upskill in the mining industry. Her journey was riddled with difficulties, including encounters with unsupportive and outright nasty trainers.

Enter Cailin Mining & Civil, a company dedicated to providing employers with on-site training and VOCs, as well as a strong affiliation with TAFE. When Cailin Mining & Civil first met Aimee, she was working as a roller operator and attempting to advance her career. Her previous negative experiences had a clear impact, and the Cailin Mining & Civil team stepped in to provide the assistance and advice she needed to restore her confidence.

Cailin Mining & Civil has had the pleasure of working with Aimee on various projects over the last three years and watching her develop into a professional Watercart operator. Despite her past losses, Aimee's persistence and hard work paid off, and she is now prepared to upskill once more, this time into rigid haul vehicles.

Aimee's contagious energy and sense of humour have made her a pleasure to work with, and Cailin Mining & Civil has attempted to hire her as a regular member of the team. Her abilities and charisma would be a benefit to the company, but for the time being, Aimee is pleased to run Watercarts and pursue her career ambitions. Cailin Mining & Civil are excited about her future, as well as their own, as they continue to provide training and support for operators like Aimee who want to grow and prosper in the industry.

Nicole had always had a connection to Cailin Mining & Civil through her family and mutual connections. The company had heard of her but had never had the chance to work with her directly. Her determination and enthusiasm for the sector, on the other hand, did not go ignored. She had been attempting to work with Cailin Mining & Civil for a long time, but time and circumstance never seemed to be on her side, until six months ago.

Ultimately, Cailin Mining & Civil had an opening, and Nicole began working as a roller operator on one of their connected projects. She rapidly demonstrated her worth by managing fleets of rollers, supervising testing and paperwork, and generally making the supervisor's life easier. As detrimental as she was to the roller fleet, management quickly saw the potential in her and decided to upskill her as soon as possible.

Nicole was trained into a full-time ADT operator position after a few months, since she excelled in this area as well. Everyone could see her devotion and dedication, and it wasn't long before she was upskilled for the second time in five months, this time into a Watercart position. Nicole is currently working as a Watercart operator on one of Cailin's projects, where she contributes significantly to the team.

Nicole is a rock for everyone around her, highly respected in the crew, and very clever. Her positive attitude and willingness to learn have made her an asset to the company. Nicole has proven time and time again that she is committed to making a difference in the industry, and she has quickly become a role model for those around her.

In conclusion, Nicole's tale is one of tenacity, perseverance, and hard work. Despite failures and hurdles, she never gave up on her dream of working for Cailin Mining & Civil. Her journey demonstrates that everything is achievable with the correct mindset and work ethic. Cailin Mining & Civil is delighted to have Nicole on their team and looks forwards to following her achievements in the coming years.

- NICOLE'S SUCCESS STORY

Danielle's tale is one of perseverance and self-assurance. She had been in the construction sector in Sydney for nearly a decade, operating machinery and organising traffic control personnel. Nevertheless, about a year ago, she made the courageous decision to prioritise herself and begin a new chapter in her life.

She packed her life into one suitcase, sold her car, and gave up her home to pursue her goals in Western Australia, even though the Covid border closure was in effect. As a permanent resident in Australia, she enrolled in a Certificate III in civil construction plant operations at Cailin Mining & Civil & TAFE and qualified for an apprenticeship.

Danielle's course would ordinarily take at least six months to finish, but because of her prior experience, she was able to complete all of the course sections in three months. She started driving a moxy and working on the ground to cover specific course modules. She rapidly became an indispensable member of the staff and began working on a FIFO basis.

Danielle now drives 777 haul trucks for one of Australia's leading mining companies after a year of hard training and devotion. She has demonstrated her ability to learn and adapt as a skilled operator of a roller, moxy, Watercart, and rigid haul truck.

Danielle has proven to be a terrific worker and crew member throughout her journey, always willing to provide a helping hand and go above and beyond. She is known for having the biggest heart and is well respected by her team and her bosses.

Danielle's tale exemplifies the power of self-belief and tenacity. She had a goal, and she chased it with all her might, never giving up despite the obstacles she encountered along the road. She now not only has rewarding work but also enjoys touring the world during her time off. Cailin Mining & Civil is extremely pleased of Danielle and wishes her the best of luck in the future.
